Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies the results; Troup County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email you send long enough to respond and handle the communication. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The date and time of each page view
- The referring website, when one is available
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help us understand site traffic, including popular pages and common exit points. You may block cookies in your browser settings, although doing so can change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing a search request to the appropriate partner service
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Understanding which pages visitors use most
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Troup County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case-record information. It provides general directions to records maintained by Jackie W. Taylor, Clerk of Superior and State Courts, and to the separate custodians for Probate, Magistrate, Juvenile, and municipal matters. Georgia's E-Access to Court Records page is a provider directory, not a unified statewide docket. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.
The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-72, applies to covered county administrative records. Its ordinary request procedure does not govern files of Georgia's Superior, State, Probate, or Magistrate courts; access to those court files is controlled by the rules and procedures of the court custodian that maintains them. A Troup County administrative open-records request therefore is not a substitute for asking the appropriate clerk for a court file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search tools. Information submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Because each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, review those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Troup County clerk, Georgia court resources, court portals, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted advertising. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the website
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary security measures to protect collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal information depend on the law that applies where you live. Georgia's Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-72, concerns access to covered government records; it does not create a general right to control data held by this private website, and its ordinary request process does not govern Superior, State, Probate, or Magistrate court files. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information where the law requires it
- Honor an available opt-out from covered data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. Any revision will appear on this page with an updated effective date, so review it periodically for changes to our information practices.
